I would say a great Friday the 13th game would basically a Bioshock clone. Replace the Big Daddy with Jason, and replace Rapture with Camp Crystal Lake. And for Death Wish, how about something like Man Hunt

What about a charity game? You could help old ladies with their shopping, collect money for dead donkeys or even run a marathon to raise money for mangy cats! And at the end your rewarded with the only thing that anyone man gets involved in charity for; hot insecure hippy chicks!

    Is porn a movie genre?

Cheburashka: "Too clean, too perfect" with "flaws and crack in the system" - do you mean Portal? I wouldnt cal Portal an existentialist game, however. IMO "Existentialist" games would grow tired very fast. After one Bioshock and one matt hazard, what else can you add to the subject beside the occational fourth-wall-breaking gag? as for "Exorcism", Psychonauts would fit the bill somewhat. You did have to enter people's minds and free them of their inner demons, offbeat an wacky as they be.

In the Simpson's game they knew they were in a videogame... I'm just sayin'

    7. Sounds good; however, I'm too much of a pussy to ever play anything like you described. 6. So, basically, you want a band manager simulator mixed in with your Guitar Hero? Hm... BTW, the next Guitar Hero game will have an adventure story mode - I guess that's something like what you would like, though it's more Brutal Legend than Band Manager '11. 5. I didn't know 'College' was a genre: I thought it was a setting. However, I'll agree that it's a good setting: both Bully and the Persona series have proven school to be a great place for games. 4. The three examples of good "documentary" games are all based on violence and/or tragedy, which is a bit too narrow to classify them as documentary. Apart from historic recreations of similar events that would allow the player to interact somehow, I don't see the appeal. 3. Never would have thought of it, but 'Exorcism' fits gaming perfectly: different people to exorcise are equivalent to different levels/stages, and to make them more interesting, they can go the Psychonauts route and create levels based on the psyche of the characters rather than 'Shake the Wiimote to exorcise!' 2. Max Payne, MP2 and MP3 - all the vigilante you will ever need. Seriously, though, I'm not sure what you want; the GTA series have plenty of character development and subsequent unlimited violence to fall into the vigilante category. 1. I guess I'm dumb: I have no clue what the hell you want with existentialism in games. Like RazielArcanum pointed out, the MGS series is full of it, and arguably the only one. However, I would play the shit out of a 'Truman Show'-esque game, one that didn't reveal its true nature and waited for you to discover it on your own. I envision a GTA-esque game (sans crime) that is too clean, too perfect, and with time the player discovers flaws and cracks in the system and becomes aware of the ruse. Damn, that would be awesome. Also, whenever you end your Top 7 with Matt Hazard as a prime example, something has definitely gone wrong. Humble apologies, Tom Goulter: I do not mean to belittle your article or attack you personally, but I did not enjoy this as a Top 7.

Existentialist? See MGS2. A fine example.

I'm not sure the existentialist theme would work unless the devs are able to make the game enjoyable to people on whom the theme is lost on altogether. Then again No More Heroes worked just as fine as a button masher. I do like the concept though.

The Slasher and exorcism ones would be cool- and there definitely needs to be a game based on the band Mayhem with church burning mini-game.
