Don’t let that furry face fool you. Ratchet’s back pocket holds more hi-tech gadgets than James Bond’s garden shed. Despite the puzzles, the platforms and the slick cutscenes, the Ratchet & Clank games have as much furious action as any PS2 shooter out there. With the series now inbound on PS3, it’s time to take a look back and reflect on why you should be excited about it. Resistance proved once more that Insomniac can craft imaginative weapons and realize them slickly. Now, with that PS3 experience under its belt, things can only get better, brighter and ka-boomier. And so we present the seven best weapons from R&C to date, each one a reason to get all kinds of (trigger)happy about Ratchet’s forthcoming PS3 debut...



Suck cannon

Appeared in - Ratchet & Clank, Up Your Arsenal

Now here’s a fine invention - a gun that uses enemies as ammo. Smaller, ankle-nipping foes can be sucked up into it, only to be spat out as fiery bullets against any larger opposition. It’s as violent as recycling will ever get, and the vortex that swirls around the barrel is one of many pretty effects.

    Why are half the weapons from deadlock? I thought people would like Going Commando or Up Your Arsenal weapons better.

    I love all the weapons on tools of destruction. I have them all in omega version and most of them are level X. :P. i'm also trying to complete it for the 4th time. :P.
    My favourite has to be those energy blades that you get on your arms. :D.

    the pistols in deadlocked (used properly) were overpowered. I could play endgame on 3 stars and get a perfect score

    best gun ever is by far the anti-matter sniper rifle. then the harbinger. both ansanly destructive and super statisfying

    The gun that shot the saw-blades in the latter three of the series was the Disclocator. And that was my favorite, too.

    I used to love the sentries in going commando, i believe.
    Technicaly not a weapon, but helpfull as hell!

    My personal favourite is the Bouncer ( appeared in going commando and Up your Arsenal) just because of the rediculously sized barrel on the end of that thing

    and it took about 3/4 of nefarious' health down in 10 shots once in Omega form :)

    I love the qwack-o-ray who doesnt love turning everyone but bosses into ducks that lay explosive eggs and not only that but when fully upgrade a duck/phoenix or doenix!!!!!

    I loved the gun that shot out razor disks from going commando, up your arsenal, and deadlocked I think. god I forget the name.

    I loved the glove of doom, as well as the plasma whip (which was changed a lot throughout the games)

    oh, and in up your arsenal, the darth maul lightsaber cheat was really cool.
