Here's the great thing about Dark Souls, and what makes the Souls series unique: The other day while playing I walked through a doorway, looked down the street, and saw in the distance what appeared to be a giant boar with metal skin.
I stopped and said, "Oh, crap, no way I'm going down there," and I explored other areas.
No other modern game will do that to you. In any other game, if I saw that I'd march in there without any fear.
Intimidation is a paradoxically amazing experience in videogames.

Undead Burg. Tall knight in plate armor and huge helmet with his back towards me. Beyond him a shining loot. I stare at his back for MINUTES before deciding i can do this. I coated the weapon with lightning and go for it. He kills me after a long struggle. I go back and nail him and get the item.

I for one still think the original game is a classic, and am glad it was more "complicated" because it added depth and options to the gameplay. The Enhanced Edition is also much improved over the vanilla version. Only one section gave me problems as far as stability is concerned, and aside from being somewhat unoptimized it played very well.
I'm only 1.5 chapters into TW2: EE and loving every minute so far.

Portal 2 has got to be one of the best games i've ever played. I've beat the single player twice now (once with the commentary, which was more scarce than i hoped for but a great addition nonetheless) and plan on playing it again and again on into the future. As someone else said here, the script and atmosphere are so cool that its fun to reenter the world despite knowing the puzzle solutions. But the co-op, oh GOD, the co-op. Portal 2's co-op campaign is the MAIN EVENT. to all you people out there criticizing the game for being too short, or not worth 60 bucks, then you must not have a cool enough friend to play the co-op with. Seriously. it is 5 or 6 hours of the BEST GAMEPLAY ON THE PLANET. That brings the grand total of Portal 2's game time to 10-12 hours, and THAT is a lot of game in this day and age. I cannot say enough good things about this game.

It's a great game, but desperately needs a patch to auto save at boss levels or something as one mistake could lose you hours of progress or having to start from the beginning again, and that ain't fun. However weapon combos are great, I like the online mode and I love killing zombies I give it 7 out of ten, sort the patch out and it could grab an 8 out of ten xx

I would not buy this damn game until a patch comes out for the stupid psycho fights. It goes beyond just being hard, they are absolutely moronic and impossible to beat. Chuck can take several rounds from a machine gun, but some jackass in a kids costume has a firework-gun that takes out most of your health in a few shots. Bullshit.

I had hopes for this game, and it crashed them all! To anybody reading this, do not buy it! They bragged about the combo weapons, but that is a bitch to find the parts, and make them. And then it kills on 50 zomibes. It breaks after 50 zombies, just get a wrench or a crowbar, it will save you time. And the story is just so stupid. A) If there are still zombies, how did a game show get them? And B) why are they still around? Why doesn't the military do something? And you have to pay money for some stuff, with people you kill in the begining. There are so many plot holes, like in Case 0, why is there a zombie outbreak when they are undercontrol enough to put them on a game show! It sucks, don't buy it/download it/rent it from a friend, there is probably a reason why your friend in letting you borrow it. Just don't get it, or you can blow me off and waste a few bucks and hours of your life! It's you choice! You see those hot chicks on the cover, thats the best part of the game. Nope, I do not agree with the review for many reasons. One, of many, is the switch from 2D to FPS is a "drag" as the author and others put it, but only when the player is playing smart or is being lazy. Good timing and creativity will yield bad ass moves from Samus when finishing enemies. One reason for this is that while in FPS Samus can also dodge an enemy's fire or attack. Nintendo and Team Ninja's collaboration works fine, nobody working on "Other M" ever said the game was going to be more than what people expect. We need to seperate Prime fans and Metroid fans, and address thier issues and expectations seperately. And don't forget to seperate people who have heard of about the Metroid franchise, but never played any of the games.
