This cynicism comes from the same thing happening on this site when Shadows of the Damned and Lollipop Chainsaw came out.

      Having been replaying MGS4 this week for the trophies I can't help but think this would be a brilliant idea. I had forgotten how many little secrets there were to find in MGS4 so having an entire town full of them would be great. Kojima also manages to do tension really well (such as hiding right under the nose of the enemy etc) so it'd translate well as a horror game. But the best thing would be the potential for fourth wall breaking moments. Psycho Mantis is practically a Silent Hill boss! So having those moments in a game series that is already known for mind-fuckery can surely only enhance it.

      Only needs graphics and story? Does'nt need much action!? It's PERFECT for Kojima! But honestly, I'd love to play a Silent Hill by Hideo. Pretty sure it'd be scarier than walking in at christmas and finding my grandma sitting at the table. The grandma that's been dead for years. Eating my Mum. ALso, I REALLY wish I had an 'Uncle Hideo'.

      To anyone still curious about this game I would take a pass. I have been willing to forgive a lot of Suda's horrid gameplay mechanics because they are so wacky but out of all of his games this is the worst. It handles like absolute ass. You can officially count me out as a Suda fan. I'm willing to support games with flaws but this smacks of a complete rush job. Ugly graphics. Bad lip synching. Some of the most wretched controls for a game I have ever had the misfortune to play.

      After having had some time to play this, I feel like critics are being unfairly harsh on it. It's not perfect, but it's far better than the scores would seem to imply. It's an above average action game with a solid soundtrack which is set in a crude but entertaining world. The target audience should, at the very least, be pleased with it. It's not God of War, Bayonetta/Devil May Cry or Vanquish, no; but it's good in its own way. It just seems like action games are getting a bum rap these days. It's like they have to be over the top or they're discredited, while mediocre FPS games are getting solid scores all around; and there are far more of those. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Achievement whores want all the trophies/ achievements that are HARD to bag, so they can brag about them? Either way, when I get this, I'm going to deliberately spend my first-playthrough NOT doing this, and seeing how far through teh game I can get before I manage to get it accidentally. And I DO mean accidentally. I swear.
