The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Collector's Edition unboxing

On November 11 (11-11-11), you'll all be able to get your hands on The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. But that's more than a week away! What are you possibly going to do between now and then? Simple: watch this video of us tearing apart the box that the game came in to get our hands on the sweet, sweet magic inside.

It comes with everything a growing dragon hunter needs, like an art book, a video game, and, of course, a big plastic statue of a dragon. Seriously, even though it's a little flimsy, that dragon is absolutely awesome. If you're still on the fence as to which version you're going to be picking up check out the video, and decide for yourself if the extras are enough to justify the high cost. The Collector's Edition runs at over double the price of the standard edition, so you'd better really want a plastic dragon for your desk.

I just wanted the DVD since the Fallout 3 DVD was really good I spent the extra bucks.

It looks great, but a plastic base? Way to cheep out www.gamingheads.com. I guess you dont get the good stuff until you spend $400 for a Tank.

Loved how Coop just tossed away the game. And.... MICHAEL NYAN CAT!!!!

I was WONDERING what the hell he was supposed to be. Anyway, an extra £40 for the statue and a book is a bit too much for me ANYWAY, but on top of that, it's a PLASTIC Dragon with a HOLLOW base you have to assemble YOURSELF!? Massive Disappoint. Glad I'm just going for the standard edition.

You think they would give us Fallout Fans a more epic special edition. Not gonna lie though, a deck of cards, casino chips, and the platinum chip was pretty good.

Ahaha awesome! I loved the costumes, but the shoddy plastic "statue" doesnt seem worth paying X dollars and making your way through the "Boxception Labrynth." Would like the game though!

Yup saved some cash by just watching the unboxing and not buying the damn thing. Really I want the art book but not the statue so I didn't care about the "Collector's Edition" (god damn it, it's the same thing they did with Gears 3). Video game companies stop this crap! Now if they made a LE, which has making of and art book than I'd be interested!

I heard his fiance dressed as Mario for Halloween.

Seeing that your profile image looks suspiciously like what you described and you seem to know about him and his personal life. I conclude that you must be his uncle?
  • D0CCON - October 31, 2011 3:54 p.m.

This reminds me of last Christmas where one of my uncles wrapped his gift card to me in a napkin, which was wrapped in a towel, which was wrapped in a small bag, which was wrapped in progressively bigger things until it looked like a big gift and it took 10 minutes to unwrap.

The perks of having that job appear ridiculously awesome. But I honestly don't give a crap about the statue or the artbook or anything, only pre-ordered the game and I'll just toss the map thing somewhere...

The disrespect you showed by tossing the game aside like that...wow. I really hate you right now.
  • BishopofHippo93 - October 31, 2011 3:03 p.m.

I'm really hoping the art book is put up for sale separately after release. That's really the only other part of this I want and the flimsy little statue is not worth it. I thought it would be a nice, high-quality solid statue or something. Not too impressed, especially at the $120 price point.
