The Sims 3 gets 3 expansions in 2013

The Sims 3 came out in 2009, but its simulated world will continue to grow with three new expansion packs this year. Electronic Arts today announced Sims will get some higher education, take off for tropical resorts, and even explore the future in 2013's lineup.

The Sims 3 University Life will release in March with a new area and game features based around college life, much like The Sims 2 University. Players can choose one of six majors which provide career boosts after graduation, and Sims can enjoy some youthful irresponsibility with "juice keggers" and a whole lot of kicky bag.

The Sims 3 Island Paradise will arrive in June 2013, just in time to stay inside and obsess over a virtual family. Sims can manage their own tropical resorts, go snorkeling, and explore uncharted isles on a customizable houseboat.

The last scheduled expansion pack will let Sims travel to the future in fall, but remains untitled at this point. A stuff pack themed after 70s, 80s, and 90s culture will release on January 22 and one focused on "iconic movie themes and settings" will land later this year.

Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
