I could use more games like Tail of the Sun, where you're a caveman killing large animals to survive, and build a tower to the sun. The Caveman Era is a good period for games that have a bit of action, hunting mastodons and tigers and such, but are kind of laid back, just exploring the emerging world, like Tail of the Sun.

We need more games from the age of dinosaurs. Jurassic, Cretaceous, or whenever. It doesn't matter. Pit me against tyrannosaurs, raptors, and pterodactyls and shake me to my core as I'm woefully overmatched. Make me discover fire. Make me literally invent the wheel (rather than reinvent it as we often do). Let me raise a pet stegosaur. Or! Give me a time machine an send me to that period with guns capable of taking those over-sizes punks down! Let me get in a dogfight with a pterodactyl. Send me a mech to engage in hand to hand combat with a tyrannosaur. Just give me dinosaurs. Lots and lots of dinosaurs.

I'd really love a game set in the Aztec, Myan, or Incan kingdoms. They had tons of interesting rituals, customs, and technology that devs could really play around with. It could be a situation where you're dealing with settlers (who basically set the technology of the Americas back by decades if not a hundred years). There's also a good degree of mystery surrounding these cultures as many of their advancements have been a bit buried because of the settlers rewriting these cultures as being barbaric and cruel (much like Mel Gibson did with Apacolypto). Anyway, I think that these would be really interesting areas to explore.

I really think there needs to be more games set in and around ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians have a great mythos about their whole culture. Mummies, green man like gods(Osiris), and jackal/man creatures (Annubis)sign me up! So many game genres could be applied to Egypt, beat em up (handled by platinum of course : P), RPG, you could even make some lame ass kinect game where you take a tour of the all the ancient monuments with your 4 person family.
