QOTW- In order to capitalize on the NFC figurines, Nintendo announces a dating sim starring your favorite Nintendo stars, called Nintendo Fan Fiction Creator. Ever dream of Samus and Waluiigi ending up together? Just slap those figures onto the wii u game pad and set them up for a hot night on the town. Think princess peach would make a great furry, put her in the cat suit and have her hook up with fox mccloud. All your darkest Nintendo fantasies can now be a reality. Launching this holiday season alongside super smash bros on wii u.

QOTW: David Cage walks out onto stage rolling a large bookshelf out at the same time containing multiple books and announces a new game that he's working on and will contain a million real words that we can take in with our ears as a new way of storytelling. He then walks off stage shortly before the giant old man face appears on the big screen which just looks at the audience briefly and then dissapears which causes the audience to applaud for an hour straight. Al hail David Cage, the god of video games. Also Nintendos direct will end with Miyamoto, Shibata, Reggie and Iwata looking at bananas with the song of healing from Majoras Mask playing eerily in the background. This continues for a few seconds before blinking images of the happy mask salesman and the moon start appearing. Fade to black as the song of healing starts finishing and as the final high piano note hits, a release date and platform is announced. (I'm not that interested in MM remake but this is totally how they should announce it even though it'll never happen :(((( )

QOTW: ALRIGHT BOYS AND GIRLS GATHER ROUND BECAUSE THIS IS HOW IT"S GOING TO GET THROWN DOWN. The scene: dim lighting does little to conceal the size of the massive stage, or the giant 'BLIZZARD' logo forged in bronze by the toil of a thousand reported goldfarmers that stands from floor to ceiling- dwarfing the assembled crowd of WoW, Starcraft and Hearthstone players that have traveled far and wide to get to this rare non-blizzcon Blizzard event. Some casually dressed GUY swaggers out before a rapidly hushing audience. Not even bothering with the ritualistic pre-unveiling PR talk, he merely takes a deep breath and screams WARCRAFT 4 while pantomiming a horde axe being cleaved into the stage before awkwardly standing up and walking back to the curtain while 'ode to joy' remixed with 'power of the horde' blasts from the floor to ceiling stage speakers. Out steps Bobby Kotick then steps out, clad in artificer-grade Warchief cosplay armor and without breaking a stride proudly states to a still stunned (and increasingly sweaty) audience. "WE HERE AT ACTIVISION BLIZZARD REALIZE THE NEED TO REMEMBER THE PAST GAMES THAT GOT US TO WHERE WE ARE TODAY, AND SO, COMING FALL 2015 WARCRAFT ORCS & HUMANS THROUGH WARCRAFT III: FROZEN THRONE ARE GOING TO BE REPACKAGED AS WARCRAFT:LEGACIES AND RECREATED IN 1080P USING THE DIABLO 3 VISUAL ENGINE. IN ADDITION IN SPRING 2015 WE WILL THEN BE RELEASING WARCRAFT 4 WHICH WILL BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN OUR UPCOMING WARLORDS OF DRAENOR EXPANSION AND OUR YET UNANNOUNCED SIXTH EXPANSION. " The crowd is still quiet; some weep, some laugh, others take out pewter pendants of Gabe Newells face and start praying, but most are stunned. Can it be true? Can the RTS that captured the hearts and minds of millions and also laid the foundation for the most successful subscription MMO to have existed so far really be getting a re-release AS WELL as an entirely new game!? "AND IN KEEPING WITH TRADITION, THERE WILL BE NO PANDAS, NO DLC AND NO EARLY ACCESS PRE ORDER BONUSES" The crowd erupts into jubilation, sweaty..not nerdy at all tears stream down peoples faces, those in the front attempt to rush past security guards to touch Bobby Koticks plate-clad feet. Siesmologists as far as San Francisco detect a level 1.4 earthquake and far up in the misty mountains of Washington state- a bearded man smiles to himself and say 'it was worth the weight'. So TL:DR Warcraft 1-3 get an HD re-release Warcraft 4 comes out half a year later as a bridge between WoW: WoD and the 6th expansion I die happy under a pile of warcraft 4 and homeworld HD box-sets. Also more Sophia/ literally anyone working at Future on the podcast, as it makes it more entertaining to hear new perspectives and comments.

QOTW: the new exclusive title for Microsoft is shadows of the damned 2 which chronicles Garcia hotspur and his trusty pal Johnson's battle against the lords of hell as they try to steal his fiancées soul. Suda51 has already said he would love to make it and Microsoft could find the money to find it by looking in the cracks between the couch seats. (Disclaimer: I Dont really care about wild star, just wanted to participate and hopefully win but hey if i do win you can send the code to someone else)

Corrections Dept.: During a discussion on Project Beast my human colleague, Hollander, noted that the brief trailer had been made into an animated .GIF, a word which he pronounced phonetically. It's pronunciation has always been contentious, however, last year, the actual creator of the file format, Steve Wilhite, set the record straight and informed the world that it's actually pronounced "jif". http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/22/tech/web/pronounce-gif/

I think the world then agreed that the way it is pronounced by the vast majority is superior, if only because the 'correct' way is currently a peanut butter brand.

Graphics Interchange Format. I don't care if he says to pronounce it "bananamovie," he's wrong.

This made me laugh when I wasn't expecting to, and I kinda blew a raspberry while eating spaghetti. Cleanup time.

Gabe Newell gets tired of making video games and video game related software and announces that he is going to sell Valve to EA for $16 Billion dollars and go into cheese making. EA at the same time announces that it will be making Half-Life 3, Left for Dead 3, and Portal 3 and they will all come out next year at different times, all made with the Frostbyte 3 engine, and all with on disc, day one DLC. Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2 will remain as they are now, but will each be getting companion apps that will allow you to buy hats and weapons on your phone. Steam will be merged with Origin to make Storigin, an all-in-one pc gaming client, that will do away with trading of any kind. Players will then have to merge their accounts, but everyone will be getting a free copy of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare.

    Storigin gave me cancer +1

Virtual reality helmets will take up what will be half of the Microsoft/sony press conferences, but with no games, Microsoft specifically will talk about how their helmet is more of a media machine than a gaming one. Nintendo will announce 2 non galaxy mario games and show a teaser of a zelda game with no release window.

Hoping for Advance Wars 3ds! I know the series hasn't had a new game since Days of Ruin, but Intelligent Systems has had a good start with the new fire emblem. They have talked about Advance wars, and with the recent release of the first one on the wii u, maybe we will see a new one! Always hoping. .. never will see it
  • qualopec_1 - May 31, 2014 4:05 p.m.

  • alecbeals - June 1, 2014 12:48 a.m.

  • qualopec_1 - June 1, 2014 2:29 a.m.

Well yeah, it was pushed until next year. But the were listing all the good games that are coming next year and forgot to mention this one.
  • GR HollanderCooper - June 1, 2014 1:17 p.m.

Good call. It's my #1 for next year right now.
  • qualopec_1 - June 1, 2014 10:57 p.m.

Mine too, along with "The Witcher 3"
  • TaserLime - May 31, 2014 4:01 p.m.

Here's my big prediction. The Last Guardian was a red herring by Team Ico to throw us off their scent. Their real next project will be revealed and it is Tetris for PS4. Tetris Shake! *random stuff happens*
