RadarPlays - Mega Man X

Last week in our Retro RadarPlays we enjoyed some classic Mega Man 2 action, but now we're stepping up to the franchise's 16-bit brother. Released recently on the Wii U's Virtual Console, we dove into the original Mega Man X, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how well it held up. Join Henry, Lorenzo, and Ryan as we take our first steps into the realm of Maverick Hunting.

Want to hang out with GamesRadar's editors while taking a look at retro games, new releases, and totally random experiences? RadarPlays is for you. Mondays we'll be checking out blasts from the past on RadarPlays Retro, Wednesdays we change things up to whatever we feel like playing with RadarPlays Shuffle, and Friday is packed with the strangest titles you’ve never (hopefully) heard of in RadarPlays Freaky. We'll also release RadarPlays for all the new releases, so be sure to check back!

It's on the Wii's Virtual Console, which is where I've been playing it. But yes, I'd love to get this on 3DS.

Is the Wii's VC the same as the WiiU?

You can access the Wii's VC store through the WiiU.

The first videogame I ever played. I have the entire collection for the Gamecube. The Hoduken secret was hard to get and you had to keep the system on in order to use it on the final boss fight. Also fun fact if you get all the armor upgrades except the one for the buster, when you reach Zero near the final boss, Zero gives you his before he turns into dust and it always broke my heart seeing Zero turn into Dust. In Megaman X 2 the Mavericks took Zero's body and kept a ppiece for each of them. You have to ge them all back so Zero could be brought back to life or something. The Megaman X series is my favorite and close to my heart. This is what got me into gaming and very nice work Lorenzo. :)
