PS4 owners who pick up Assassin's Creed Syndicatewill get access to 10 exclusive missions based on penny dreadfuls. And no, the lack of capitalization and that "S" are not typos - I mean the penny dreadful books sold in 19th century UK, not the TV series of the same name. These weekly serials often focused on grisly crimes and murder, which is what Syndicate heroes Jacob and Evie Frye will be investigating.
A trailer shows Jacob and Evie using their Eagle Vision to uncover clues, but it remains to be seen if these mysteries will be solved by simply following a marker from Point A to Point B, or if there will be any sort of deduction required on the player's part. Either way, it looks like the penny dreadful missions will add an atmosphere of darkness and malice to the game, which I'm personally all for. Check it out:
If you don't already own a PS4 and want to snatch these missions up, Ubisoft has partnered with Sony to release an Assassin's Creed Syndicate bundle for the UK region that includes the game, a 1TB PS4, and a copy of Watch Dogs for an as-of-yet unannounced price. Hey, remember Watch Dogs? I bet Aiden Pearce's magical cell phone could solve these murders right quick.
