Welcome to Pokemon Monday, GamesRadar's new podcast 100% devoted to all things Pokemon. Step into the bizarre hivemind of several adult Pokemon fantatics each Monday as we bring you a no-frills, raw and unedited passionate Pokemon discussion covering breaking news, events, and whatever else is on our singularly devoted Pokemon brains. No Pokemon-related topic is off limits.

Episode 27 highlights

Snivy, Oshawott, Tepig and Unova - We weigh in on what we think about the name localizations so far.

Henry's Thanksgiving Pokemon report - He watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and lived to report on it, and also managed to squeeze in a viewing of the Arceus movie.

Pokemon x Metal Gear - Our favorite Pokemon fan image of the week.

Pokemon spotlight discussed - Fighting-type Dokkora bears a striking resemblance to the Machop family, but how does it stack up? Likewise, we can't help but compare Gamageroge to fellow Water/Ground type Swampert.

Henry hates children - Or at least, he hates when they affect his ability to play games with his friends. Kudos to all the parents who manage to juggle parenting and Pokemon. It's never to early to teach them about EV training!

Pokemon of the week: Venusaur - The Seed Pokemon. Sludge Bomb and Leech Seed are musts for this Grass/Poison dual type starter. Side note: sometimes my cat reminds me of Venusaur.

Question of the week: What's your favorite Pokemon type (Grass, Fire, Dark, etc)? Why?

See you next week!

My fav type is Dragon. I know it can be weak at times but I mean they are freaking dragons! PS I love Flygon! Dont forget the other water ground types. Whincash ,and Quagsire! But Swampert is awesome. Water absorb is most useful in two on two where you can attack your ally. Surf is awesome for that.

I go for fire because in every game i pick the fire starter. But this time, i am going for Wotter since Tepig is meh ok.
  • tbelz99 - December 3, 2010 3:15 a.m.

I'd say it's a dead tie between electric and psychic cause they're both good at offense and don't have many weaknesses
  • codystovall - December 2, 2010 11:48 a.m.

Ground types Rule with an iron fist!

which parade were u watching, u know theres two right macys is all singing and dancing basically but on channel 5 they just cover the parade with some interviews but they dont take away from the floats. i was surprised to not only see but hear their actual japanese names unova is stupid, not the name of course becuz it actually sounds cooler, but the fact that it sounds like they think we dont know anything. like back when they banned isshu images here being released

Psychic. Psychic moves have some of the most interesting strategies, and psychic pokemon usually have very high specials. Alakazam is still a rock solid poke, but every generation has at least one psychic type who will be used pretty heavily. But that's not what I care about. Psychic pokemon are just really cool and well designed. LOVE FOR WOBBUFET.

"And a Thanksgiving preformance by" - Alright, i'll let you finish, but Pokemon Black and White had the best floats of ALL TIME.
  • rpadTVbsuKenyan5000 - December 1, 2010 8:19 p.m.

I always preferred my Venusaur, I was always looking more for which pokemon would be better to battle with and I never really developed an attachment to a particular one or type. My Venusaur was always there and always kicking ass and taking names though, so I guess he would be my favorite one. Fighting type is always pretty useful though, as is water type- they might be my most used types.
  • Hairbear012 - December 1, 2010 2:03 p.m.

Fire is always my favourite.... they are a really formidable type but they dont have counters to water types like what other pokemon do (gyarados :P) Larz now thinks he is king of the world because he can navigate urban dictionary for a word :P
  • Larinah - November 30, 2010 10:35 p.m.

My favorite type has to be Dragon. I've always shot for having a dragon type of some sort in my party, and white was no different. I caught Monozu as soon as possible to get him to the beast that is Sazandora. In addition, Zekrom rocks, and I'm going to go crazy if I hear another old guy say Pokeemon again. ADD THE ACCENT.
  • killerhi5 - November 30, 2010 9:03 p.m.

my favorite types are..... water and ghost but my starters are almost exclusivly grass so.....
  • AnalogKid - November 30, 2010 8:43 p.m.

favorite type is definitely fighting usually go with the water type starter cause blastoise and feralcigatr are awesome anyone else think snivy could be snooty and ivy? he does seem kind of snooty to me
  • Pokefan8824ever - November 30, 2010 7:20 p.m.

I think the name tepig is a very short version of tea cup pig. At first when I heard oshawott it sounded very stupid but it got stuck in my head lol and its very funny to say so the name sticks out very well lol. Snivy is awesome smugleaf sounds just as good. Onetoboner I used a skarmory on gen 3 pokemon bc it was sturdy enough to get me everywhere I need to go.
  • jamescain - November 30, 2010 3:38 p.m.

  • billyjack77 - November 30, 2010 1:55 p.m.

My favorite type of pokemon would have to be steel probably! All of them look really cool. Like Pineco to Forretress he justs turns into a badass with that evolution! And i like thier low amount of weaknesses.
  • philipshaw - November 30, 2010 12:07 p.m.

My fav is fire type and that is only because it was my first Pokemon starter
  • H311DUCk - November 30, 2010 11:37 a.m.

I'm gonna have to say water or electricity I'm not completely sure on which one I like best.
  • Romination - November 30, 2010 7:10 a.m.

I like Grass. They grow well, get pretty strong, and I feel like they don't have many weaknesses. Plus, Bulbasaur was my first Pokemon, and he was Grass, so I gots some nostalgia glasses.
  • ShokuaHyuga - November 30, 2010 7:09 a.m.

My favorite type of Poke'mon is Fire; mostly because it's the element of my favorite Poke'mon of all time, Charizard, but also because Fire type Poke'mon, in my opinion, always look the best.
