Not in the anime, but in Pokemon Stadium 2, the hilarious narrator pronounces pokemon wrong. For example he Pronounces Totodile "TAH-Tah-Dile" and Pikachu "PICK-uh-choo" Great question of the week, please read some answers on the podcast? Pleeease?
  • ShokuaHyuga - November 10, 2010 2:32 a.m.

Anyone ever notice how in some episodes normal type attacks can affect ghost type Poke'mon, but in other episodes they can't?
  • BoltActionRevolver - November 10, 2010 2:04 a.m.

I would like to pose a question to Carolyn and the others. In Gen I and Gen II, the evolutionary stones where rare. You got one, and with out the ability to rebattle trainers, you really had to decide on what stones you wanted to buy from the department store. Shoot, Moon Stones where the worst. In a time where the Internet wasn't normally an option, having all three moon stones wasn't for most players in GenI. You had to decide if you wanted a Cliffable, a Nidoking, a Nidoqueen, or a Wigglytuff. You could not do all 4. Now, with the Pokéathlon Dome, you can buy these. Sure, it'll take some times to get the points, but still, its seems easier to acquire these stores. I wounder what your thoughts on this are

There's one that really, really, really bothered me. It was the "School of Hard Knocks" in the first season (I think that was the name) where the kid is running on the treadmill at the beginning answering questions about Pokemon. In it, Pikachu fights a Cubone, and the Cubone is immune to the electricity. Uuuurgh that one murdered my young brain.

hey i was wondering with all of these wifi giveaways in black and white, can the game use WPA in a dsi? Curse you WEP!
  • Kapuran - November 9, 2010 6:36 p.m.

I'm just going to pipe in, now that I've listened to the 'cast, to say that I've always pronounced it Ar-kee-us.
  • Hotdogkilledyou - November 9, 2010 5:56 p.m.

Would the fact that Ash saw Ho-oh in the first episode count as a mistake?
  • Crabhand - November 9, 2010 5:15 p.m.

I really wish they would just release the Azure Flute and give us the opportunity to catch Arceus. I have no idea how I'm going to finish the 4th generation Pokédex with Arceus and Celebi being damn near impossible to obtain in America.
  • Kapuran - November 9, 2010 4:27 p.m.

I'm writing this before actually listening to the podcast, so I may post again later, but commenting on the contents of this post... 1) Wow. That "hidden" message is pretty straightforward. I wonder if they got in trouble for that? 2) Arceus, as just another Pokemon, is only all right. But the concept of a God Pokemon is pretty cool. I've been waiting to see if a real world cult ever springs up which worships Arceus. I've actually sketched a tattoo concept based off of that ring around Arceus' body, if flattened, which I will probably never get (but if I do; most subtle Pokemon tattoo EVER). This "Ring of Arceus" would also make a good symbol for the religious cult movement which worships it. :P Maybe I'll start it... 3) There are lots of mistakes in the anime, but there are also just liberties that the screenwriters take. Pokemon (the anime) isn't true to the games, 100%, we know this and should be over it by now (it's been 13 years, move on). What bothers me are ACTUAL mistakes, of which you will find no greater concentration than in the first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. Every time I watch this movie I'm finding a new mistake. Calling a Pidgeot a Pidgeotto, calling a Scyther an Alakazam, Gyarados' wrong coloration of the lips in one scene, just to name a few. (More: )

Sorry beforehand if this is long or vulgar, just wanted to say that this is a great podcast and congrats for lasting longer than you planed, either incidently or viceversa, hope it last´s a little longer until the team can hold on, i have been a pokefan since the red and blue version and have been playing ever since, with all the social drawback´s and benefits this brings as being a fellow poketrainer yourself´s might or not understand, i wanted to thank you cause ive been pasing some crappy times and just needed something to pass time besides work, and got into softreseting for the starting pokemon shinnies, mainly charmander cause his evolution looks so good and i wanted a legit one, so in may of this year i started this frustating quest, for the first month no results in the leaf green version of trying day after day, and on the other 2 months trying a week like 1 or 2 hours since i got discouraged, then i got some trouble to sleep and i tried to do it in these hours to try and get it only to get even more frustated, then on july i got the bob ross 24th season to try sleep cause his voice is kinda orgasmic, no results to sleep but really got a lot more relaxed, then after i listened to the podcast #7 i got really inspired to try getting charmander, so i put bob ross and just started softreseting, and after like 12 times there it was, a obviously lvl. 5, female, hasty nature shiny charmander, and just got static, couldn´t talk or move just thinking how i could do something wrong, since i already had my thumb on the select and start buttons on the gameboy sp to soft reset and inches away from the a and b button, got to pull my self together and save, but i still was worried over if it could somehow get the data corrupted somehow, confirmed she was there and that´s when i got to celebrate getting a shiny charmander, i think it went kinda like the shiny ponyta dude, more or less (i think more), and instantly passed it to the emerald version and started cloning it with the cloning glitch it has and now i got an army of lvl 10 shiny charmanders, and i wanted to personally thank you guys cause it was you guys who really inspired me to go once again and i think bob ross was my luck charm, since then ive decided to do the same for the other starters till i get all the shiny starters, a metagross and a rayquaza since they look so awesome in their shiny version no matter how long it takes, i do get discouraged but listening to you guys really inspires me to go the extra mile, in any case i would suggest at least a monthly pokemonth podcast if possible but considering you guys have other things in your plate its just wishfull thinking, if possible i would like to give the members that want a copy of the charmander when i get someway to conect to the global link to give her to you guys, but it migh take some time, i am willing to give them away to just commemorate such a joyous ocasion and to thank you guys for inspiring all poketrainers and podcast listeners to be a proud pokefan, i also wanted to mention how some of my friends got into playing pokemon, one specificaly who always said that pokemon was for ¨fa**ot´s¨, and then after watching this video ¨¨ (it´s in spanish, but just put on the subtitles to understand, it may take a while but its worth it) he really got interested on what pokemon was about, but it was until this other video where he really got the urge to play it ¨¨, and since then repented on his statement over the game and his general idea over games to not judge till he plays it, and all of us, total of 4 really old geezers just playing and colecting pokemon with our respecting girlfriends or wife´s and families just being fed up of how we talk like at the middle of the night between ourselves over the phone to ask how some pokemon evolve or if an atack is good or not, since some of them are new to the game, and 2 of us being the ones that played since the original versions are the ¨pokegurus¨ of the group, so that´s my poke adventure, really wanted to share these experriences and will try to conect to try and get to share her and when possible the other shinies when i get them, so far no other shinies but still not giving up, so thanks once again and waiting for the new pod cast´s and the new pokemon black and white really hoping for a gray version 3d compatible, i really think they should try that and stay with the pokemon soulsilver heartgold outer pokemon option since that has been my favorite option of any pokemon game, also since this podcast ive been ev trained and its so hard to keep track but it is so worth it, also been nuzloque challenge on the ds versions and going to do it on the other ones when i get the shinies, has anyone thought of doing it in the black and white versions, since its new it would be a completely exhilarating experience, so thats all, sorry for being so long and once again thank you

Man, never knew the "water are totally weak to fire" f-up Ok, so, more mistakes: Pokerap. It says Graveler, it shows the right word, Graveler, but that's a Geodude. It's towards the end.
  • themaster465 - November 9, 2010 5:50 a.m.

in the maidens peak episode ghastly can talk but in the lavender town episode he can't also turns into a ferret
  • nomnom52 - November 9, 2010 5:43 a.m.

For the low-level catch rate thing, I used the Mew glitch in the original Red version, and It took me at least ten ultra balls. For a LEVEL 7 POKEMON!
  • Robusken - November 9, 2010 5:39 a.m.

The thing that bothered me is that attacks that were practically useless in the game were monster attacks in the show. Whirlpool making some mini-black hole and tail whip just smacking pokemon around like nothing. Also the fact that Ash never ages, at all. Its kinda creepy.
