Talkradar!!! Even though the site has changed in that last 8 months it been mostly for the better but the loss/suspension of Talkradar is a travesty. Bring it back with all the hosts; Chris, Michael, Tyler, Coop, Henry.

Congratulations on your new position. May you have a good time here. Just a warning though, as if it matters, I'm going to stay firmly on the skeptical/cynic side of the spectrum of responses. That's not to say you're bad at your job or unfit for the role, both of which I know nothing of and therefore can't fairly judge. Just know that I, and I assume a few others, am going to look at this change in a way I like to call "crap until proven good." Again, this isn't to say I think badly of you, Ms. Tong, just that I will remain skeptical until there's sufficient proof that this is a good change for the site. I'm not sure and even somewhat doubtful if anyone shares my opinion, but if you do, please do reply.

Congratulations on your new position! As for some comments on the changing site recently, my number one complaint is the lack of an edit button, followed closely by the slideshow view in second. As for suggestions, a user-generated content area could be cool (of course if policed). The user-generated area would give some of us something to do at times, but I'm afraid of the inevitable degradation that may occur at the same time.

Oh, yay, a "100 Best Games Ever" series! I can't wait! I've never seen one of those before- on this or any other web site! Seriously, I immediately lose insane amounts of respect for any outlet that goes through this hackneyed, nerd-baiting BS, much less one that feels the need to do it repeatedly (I'm looking at you, IGN-and-now-GamesRadar). "Time to Top 100" could easily be the "Start to Crate" metric of gaming sites. But holy hell, you can post pictures of your dog with stuff on his head anytime you want. Unlike my first paragraph, in no way is that sarcasm.

I'm also super supportive. You will not find a bigger supporter of the old crew and I hope they can and have time to guest stuff on the new podcasts and other such things, but I really enjoyed the last 20 or so Talkradars. I loved Coop and Keast and the rest. I actually thought there was renewed energy and humor during that era. Best of luck Sophia and the new gr.

I want to start with I have been part of this website since early '07. I have been through a lot of changes none as drastic as these. I would also like to say congrats Sophia on the promotion. However, this new direction has me extremely worried. For starters, the new slideshow format. I might like it however, it doesn't work in Chrome or Firefox on one computer and Firefox on my home computer. This happened all the sudden and i haven't been able to see a top 7 in months. I also find slideshows extremely lazy writing. Secondly, it is Talkradar is gone a big no-no. I assume the new podcast you are talking about is Newsradar a podcast that has been teased for the past 8 months. (mentioned in a talkradar by Cooper) Thirdly, the site has lost that more edgy, funny articles, this has been happening even before the mass exodus of talent, which helps distinguish it from other sites. Also, the new features ideas have potential but you give up on them to fast (High Horse, ask GR, etc). I have still gone on the website numerous times even though I can't access the parts i love, just because i still care about this site. I hope this can be the start of a new dawn and not a bitter end.

What OS are you running? What version of the browser are you on? If it's not working for you, then we want to make sure it's not something on our end.
  • SunniDee - August 2, 2012 11 a.m.

I'm running Windows 7. And im using the most updated versions of Firefox and Chrome. It started right around the time the leaked Wii U controller pictures got released and Cooper put up an article pointing out little things about it. It stopped working in chrome then. And then a couple of weeks later for Firefox. I have also talked to Cooper about this before and he was also puzzled

This also happened to both my PC and my wife's PC. I actually opened up IE for the first time in years to keep reading the articles here. It's a minor nuisance, but not something I expect from GR. Both rigs are Win7 x64, and we use the latest version of Chrome.

Either of you guys using any add blockers on your browsers or other plugins that might affect it? When we do testing it works on all browsers, so not sure if it's something on our end or the user.
  • SunniDee - August 3, 2012 6:16 a.m.

No, it just all the sudden happened one day.
  • SunniDee - August 6, 2012 6:52 a.m.

and I go back to being ignored
  • Apastron - August 6, 2012 3:04 p.m.

I'm not ignoring you. I am trying really hard, though! :)

^^ This - been a GR regular since it was cheatplanet, and I wholeheartedley agree with this guy's opinion. Only thing I would add is a request for an 'edit' button. The idiosyncracy that this site had was its bizarre articles, that made you giggle - which sadly, have been declining and declining. Matt Cundy, Justin Towell and Hollander Cooper, in my opinion, are the writers that encompass the true ethos of the site and I genuinely get excited when I see their names. While I accept every writer has their own style, every article can't be quirky and there needs to be a constant trickle to keep everyone happy, my main request is to bring back the 'quirk'. Also, congratulations Sophia - all the best, and I hope the new direction of this site truly is reflective of what the users want and NOT a Google-style hostile takeover of what made YouTube great.

As a newbie to the site (followed Sophia from GS) I look forward to seeing the improvements over time!
  • robin-smith - August 2, 2012 4:23 a.m.

it'll be interesting to see how the website evolves over the next few weeks and months. keep up the good work sophia
  • AuthorityFigure - August 2, 2012 2:09 a.m.

My friend said that podcasts are audio files kept on the internet. Can somebody clear this up? Where I live, the internet is in black and white and mobile phones come with a backpack.
  • Hobogonigal - August 2, 2012 1:22 a.m.

Congrats Sophia, I've been visiting this site now for a long time and whilst the change has been tough, I think it has all been for the better. I'm sure you will do a great job at improving the GamesRadar we all know and love and it is great that you are involving us, the community, in more parts of the website. Also, Game Club sounds like a great idea! It should help me complete some of those great games that I really should have already played!
