Oscars nominations 2014 in full

The Oscars nominations for 2014 are finally here, with Gravity and American Hustle emerging as clear favourites with 10 nominations a-piece.

Both films landed acclaim in numerous categories, with Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave following close behind with nine nominations - including Best Director and Best Picture.

Meanwhile, Meryl Streep was given the 18th nomination of her career for August: Osage County - if she wins, she'll tie with Katherine Hepburn's record-setting four Best Actress baldies.

There were few surprises in the Academy's choices ( despite quite a few strange snubs ), though it was particularly surprising to see The Wolf Of Wall Street lavished with as much love as it was, especially considering the Academy's usual aversion to controversy-courting movies.
