Merlin forms a vital part of a Saturday night fight-back for the BBC
Merlin ’s “His Father’s Son” was watched by 5.9 million viewers on Saturday night, the largest overnight ratings figure of the series so far, and up nearly 400,000 from last week. Good times indeed for Camelot and its new king.
And the ratings story for last night wasn’t quite as predictable as it has been for the past few weeks. Merlin was still third, but it played its part in dragging its direct competition, The X-Factor , down into second place, with 9.9 million viewers. The top show of the evening was the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing with 10.2 million.
