Yesterday brought the first official image from next year's Ghostbusters reboot, a line-up shot of the four new spook hunters. Today a quartet of character posters has now arrived online to introduce newcomers to the upcoming team set to destroy the spectres of New York City next summer.
Up until this point Paul Feig has remained tight-lipped on plot specifics surrounding the movie. After a series of surprise cameos were leaked ahead of time, the director took matters into his own hands by revealing character names and Sigourney Weaver's involvement through Twitter. And while he's not giving the game away just yet, he did shower his leading ladies with praise for their performances.
"They are four incredibly talented women, each with a unique voice and style of comedy,” Feig told Entertainment Weekly. “The fact that they meshed so well and complemented each other so well made this team of paranormal warriors a very interesting and fully-rounded group. The funniest people who come from sketch, stand-up, or just comedy, in general, work well together because the good ones know they are only as good as those they are playing off, against, and with. The set was a fun, supportive and creatively fertile environment.”
Co-starring Chris Hemsworth, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams and Cecily Strong, Ghostbusters opens on July 15, 2016.
