Madden NFL - multiplayer hands-on
We try out three of the hottest football minigames ever
The Kicking Combine minigame is the weakest of the three, but still sneaks in a surprising Wii remote action - wind control. Each player takes one turn to kick a field goal from varying places on the field as the others shake remotes to generate powerful wind that screws with the ball in midair. Even people who aren't actively involved with the kicking have an opportunity to mess with those who are.
Actual kicking is done by lowering the remote and quickly yanking it upward. Your accuracy is dependant on how straight (or sliced, if you need to compensate) the thrust was, based more on speed than how high you fling it. There's some fun to be had here, but it's nowhere near as competitive as the two-on-two game.
