Keri Russell helps tell Bedtime Stories

When you’ve acted in something as nuanced and sweet as Waitress, you’ve got to wonder what Keri Russell will make of starring in an Adam Sandler comedy.

Still, Bedtime Stories sounds more in his schmaltzy, lesson-thumping oeuvre (see: Click) than The Waterboy. Hairspray’s Adam Shankman is directing the tale of a busy, family-stressed real estate developer (Sandler) whose life is thrown into chaos when the tales he tells his niece and nephew at night suddenly become real.

In Matt Lopez’ script, Russell will be a potential love interest with our hero, who will no doubt help him see the true meaning of Christmas. Or, you know, something like that.

It all starts shooting in February just in time to arrive for Christmas next year.
