Karateka remake out November 14 on Xbox Live Arcade

Kareteka will execute its kung fu grip on Xbox Live Arcade November 14. Details on the remake of Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner's 1984 sidescrolling martial arts game and its first screenshots quietly surfaced on the Xbox Marketplace website this week.

The remake is Mechner's first return to games after designing 2003's Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Developer Liquid Entertainment participated in the 3D rebuild, which is being distributed by D3Publisher.

GameInformer reports that PlayStation 3 and Wii version of the game are planned but not yet dated.

I remember beating this game when I was a kid. I was so happy......until I found out what happens when you don't run to your girlfriend. I'm hoping this game isn't such a kick in the balls.

Then you missed one of the most jaw-droppingly awesome (if you did it right) endings in videogame history.
