How much would you pay to play Angry Birds on your console? Because this is how much Activision will be charging...

Angry Birds Trilogy coming to 360, PS3 and 3DS for quite a price

So how much would you pay to play Angry Birds on your console? What would you consider to be a reasonable price? Because for the recently revealed Angry Birds Trilogy, publisher Activision has slapped on an RRP of $39.99 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, and $29.99 for 3DS. Which - to use the correct avian vernacular - seems very plucking expensive. Very plucking expensive indeed.

For your money you get the following - Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. They come in 'stunning HD', have 'totally new controls built for a living room' and use the underwhelming arm-flapping technologies of Kinect and Move. The 3DS version has optional stereoscopic three-dimensions for your eyes and StreetPass functions for the outwardly mobile. The press release also promises 'More information on new content, features and come!' Pretty sure some words are missing there.

But even with the additional trimmings, the $40 and $30 price tags seem drastically over-priced. Especially when you consider all three games can be purchased for your iOS device for the poultry sum of $6. Which is much cheeper.

Perhaps when the game comes out in time for Christmas, Angry Bird loyalists (which I am not) will happily pay the asking price without getting their feathers in a ruffle. Personally, I think the Angry Birds Trilogy can go take a flying f... [oh, what's this? $5 for Portal 2 in the Steam Summer Sale. Don't mind if I do].

Before I say anything, let me just say how much I hate this series. They are profiting on something that Armor Games have been pumping out for years for free. Now, this is just not a game that can hit consoles. It's just not a thing. In fact, it's hardly a game. In fact....fuck all of this, i'm out.

Nice reference to Portal 2 there, Cundy. I definitely cashed in on it when it was the measly $5. Also, this if the stupidest fucking thing I've ever heard of.

tbh buying them at retail stores for PC is nearly just as bad all of them cost £10 plus £20 for AB-Space its fucking rediculous ... angry birds is like the wii you play it for a week then never touch it again

It's worth a try I suppose, the game has got such strong brand recognition they might just pull it off for Crimbo. Saying that I hope it sinks like a sack of lead s**t. Ridiculous pricing.

and its werth every penny cuz the games is amazeing and agngry birds is probelly one of the best things to happan to gameing and defiently the best game of this genreation i is already own this on iphone and iapd and ipad touch but i think i is will by it agian so i can get the amazeing experaience of it with kineckt

Didn't the makers of this game pretty much make this game and claim it was the future? That instant quick gaming (a la phone) for small amounts of cash would kill console gaming..and now took that same game, kill the instant portable gaming, and small cost, and put it on consoles..

Biggest idiots? They'll usually buy a game maybe three times a year, get their money's worth, and be satisfied with their purchase. Usually will not be full price. Those kids who pester their parents though..

This is one of those situations where the heads of Activision had too much acid and thought Angry Birds was a "real video game" and decided it would be easy for them to sell millions of copies by sticking three of the games together and update it to HD and add unwanted controls and end it with a bang by overpricing it because the marketing director committed suicide after Bobby Kotick took all his money and used it as toilet paper. As you may have guessed by now, this isn't the best thing Activision could do. Hell, sticking all Call of Duty games between Cod4 and MW3 in one package, sell it for $60 and call it a day.
