The multiplayer modes of the forthcoming 360 shooter Halo 3 are currently playable and are undergoing daily playtests by developer Bungie.
In his weekly update, Bungie representative Frank O'Connor revealed, "Lars, one of the new[er] multiplayer designers, has a regular multiplayer test in session now, which happens every day and with surprisingly polished-looking graphics - although I'm told a lot of the textures and decorator objects are just placeholders at the moment. Could have fooled me."
As Halo 2 suffered from many delays, it's encouraging to hear that Bungie is making significant progress with the follow-up. Microsoft has stated that the game will have a 2007 release date and will no doubt leave it as vague as that until it is sure of when the game will be completed.
