A now-defunct listing found on Play.com suggests Sony has a Grand Theft Auto spin-off in production for PlayStation Vita. As spotted in the gtaforums, the premature post displayed a mock-up for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights, as well as box art and info for Monster Hunter Portable 3, Tales of Innocence R, and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.
Only the Monster Hunter Portable 3 listing remains on the UK retailer's website, however this image depicting all four unconfirmed titles has been making the rounds:
While image itself smells of a homemade hoax, it's credibility is bolstered by the fact Sony is gearing up to make a slew of new PS Vita announcements in just a couple days during its “PlayStation Vita Game Heaven” event on March 9.
Conspicuous timing aside, the fact that Monster Hunter was seen running on the PS Vita (then NGP) back in 2011, Final Fantasy Type-0 has been rumored to be making the jump to PS Vita, and that Tales of Innocence R is already out in Japan, makes the possibility of a Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Nights even more believable by association. Until Sony gives us confirmation on Friday, consider us “cautiously optimistic”.
