God of War: Ascension TGS 2012 video demo - A bloody good time

Kratos doing what he does best: committing ruthless murder

Doesn't Kratos ever feel like mellowing out? Apparently not--in our latest hands-on session with God of War: Ascension, he thought it best to gut and mutilate everything in sight. You have to admit, it's hard to top his grand finale: brain stabbing. See just how much monster blood can be packed into one PS3 disc in our video demo below:

We'll have to wait until March 12th, 2013 to disembowel the full cast of mythological beasts, but it'll be worth it. If you're strong of stomach and you just want more gore, give the latest official GoW:A trailer a watch:

The big boss creature is clearly a Kraken not a Hydra...

There are many, many, many sea monsters in Greek mythology, and since Kratos will kill the Hydra in GOW and the Kraken in GOW 2, then the creature seen in the demo is most likely Charybdis.

Well, it looks like it still plays like God of War. Still concerned about the story though, I've never really been a big fan of prequels.

Ah. The God of War development teams know how to squeeze every last drop of detail out of the PS3. Wonderful.

For me the original GOW still is the best they made, not saying that the others were a lot worse but they never had the impact the first one had. They kept adding to kratos while I think they didn't have to do that, so I'm keeping an eye on this one but I'm not sure it's going to be a day one purchase.
