Get shanked with EA's Shank

New trailer reveals brilliantly animated, literal shanking of enemies

Klei Entertainment and EA is revealing a new gameplay video at GDC 2010 for this 2D, side-scrolling bloodfest. The player literally carries around a makeshift knife - does it even have a handle? Doesn't matter. This guy doesn't care about getting his hands dirty. To add injury to insult, the player can also pull out a chainsaw, or dual-wield pistols to finish off his enemy.

Though the gameplay is pretty straightforward, Shank's main attraction is its beautiful animation. From environment aesthetics to the character illustrations themselves, it's no surprise that it is one of the finalists in the 2010 Independent Game Festival for its stunning visuals.

To see for yourself, check out the video below. Shank is expected to be released on XBLA, PSN, and PC this summer.
