GamesRadar UK Podcast 012 - Dragon bumming

Are you ready to get your ears around another intangibly sexy episode of the GRUK Podcast? Are you ready to be mesmerized and discombobulated by the floundering and only partially coherent game-related ramblings of three men in a room? Are you ready for dragon bumming? If you answered 'YES!' to all or some or even none of those questions then you are ready enough - click the 'Click to hear us now!' black banner below and you will be instantly transported to a magical world of eartertainment.

The games we're giving away on the podcast this week are: NHL 2K6 (360) and Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble (DS). Very stunning prizes. To be in with a chance of winning them, listen out for the question at the start of the podcast and leave your answer in the comments on this very page. Best answer wins. Although the best answer might be the worst answer. If you know what we mean.

Awesome podcast as per usual :) As for worst gaming peripheral, it'd probably be my loud-as-fuck Desert Eagle light gun. Everytime I fired a shot its built-in recoil made a slamming noise that thundered through my entire house. Through the walls, it apparently sounded like I was doing heavy-duty DIY rather than playing a game. I had to get rid of it after ruining too many episode of Eastenders for the folks downstairs :(

The 3 weeks I spent waiting for a custom end for my PSP's analogue stick having lost the original one. The blood blisters had to filed off and I didn't touch Everybody's Golf for about a year after that, I was too scared. Either that or my PS2 Dualshock which after a while only wanted to go downwards on the left stick, making GT4 and FIFA games a little tricky.

The CDi 'rollercontroller' It looked like something from a 60s scifi movie and was impossible to play anything with. I know it was aimed at small children but it seemed like every shop that had a CDi out for you to try used this contoller, no matter what the game was. I remember trying to play a violent anime-style shooting game using baby's first joypad. Very strange.

Worst controller? a broken ps2 controller that had the wires exposed and an analog stick missing. had to use your thumb on the rollers to make your character move.

I haven't had the "pleasure" of using Kinect yet so I'd say the worst controller has to be the Wii controller, It's the very definition of the word 'Gimmick'.

Err.... does Kinect count as a controller?
  • n00b - April 18, 2012 2:36 p.m.

n64 controller but, when the joy stick was broken, all that was left was a steel needle that was painful to play with. Went through 3 of those

Any third party controller. Used to hate going to friends houses and they only have one official pad and a shitty third party shitfest that I always had to use. I remember a Megadrive one in particular that looked like a six button pad but the top row was just turbo versions of A, B, and C.

Great podcast this week lads. Enjoyed. Have to look back for crap controllers really. Any joystick that wasn't the illustrious 'Zip Stick' was destined to stop moving right after a week or two of Sensi soccer. Remember those large, black, dildo-esque, sticks with the finger grooves at the top? Shit, them.

The Turbo SNES controller I had as a kid, worked perfectly... until I smashed it on my mates knee when he beat me 10-0 on ISS Deluxe... never was quite the same after that.

Towelly! You signed a 12 month contract with sky just for a few weeks of f1. you silly silly boy!

  • Ricitor - April 18, 2012 8:16 a.m.

Nintendo 64 Controller. It was never officially released in South Africa during its time so I imported 1 about a year ago and I can not get used to the damn thing.

Slightly worried about Mr Cundy's sounding so down at the start, but that ended up being a absolutely hilarious! Please keep up the fantastic work as you guys are literally basically essentially the only reason why I still come to Gamesradar.
  • ithurtstopoop - April 18, 2012 10:06 a.m.

I see what u did there
  • chrisbarker1980 - April 18, 2012 6:14 a.m.

Cundy, don't listen to Dave's ramblings about FEZ. Just plat it you'll love it!
  • Gazanator101 - April 18, 2012 4:46 a.m.

The original Xbox controller - simply comes down to tiny hands, and a massive pen.. err controller.
  • YouAreTearingMeApartAntista - April 18, 2012 3:43 a.m.

Kinect has got to be the worst controller ever. Any controller that can completly lose its shit by your guinea pig moving in it's cage is no good in my books.
