Zelda is inarguably one of the most popular names in all of gaming, but outside of the super-obvious themes, its music has generally taken a backseat to the gameplay, characters and brain-bending puzzles. And while it's true that plenty of Zelda's music is made to fade into the background, there are still some outstanding tracks nestled in there. Namely this inspirational tune from Tal Tal Heights.
Played over Link's ascension into a dizzying mountain range, Tal Tal belts out adventuresome spiritlike no other songin this Game Boy-only release. Link rarely needs motivation to save the day, but if you can't muster up some sword-swinging enthusiasm while rocking to this track, pull the stick out of your ass and get to shakin'.
Link's Awakening was re-released in 1998 on Game Boy Color (probably the version you're most familiar with), and now looks to be revived by the gorgeously 3D remake seen above. We've got our fingers crossed that Nintendo doesn't step in and put a stop to what's surely a labor of love.
