Take a look at that little whiner. He spent a year or more bitching and whining about how horrible the Playstation 3, now he's got an exclusive deal to put Steam on it.. he has to bitch about something. I got it! Xbox live is shit now! I could live without Left 4 Dead or any other game if the man would just keep his grubby fingers away from consoles for the rest of his life and keep his mouth shut.

Microsoft's draconian policies are a bit much (nothing like Apple and their app store or anything, but that's neither here nor there) but does anyone really care about what this guy thinks after his doom-and-gloom "multicore processors are going to kill the videogame industry!" nonsense? Gabe Newell has about as much credibility as Michael Pachter. He's built a respected development house and distribution platform, but as a public face of the company, he's terrible.

Wow fat jokes. Way to go. When you head a company that consistently produces incredibly high quality games, as Valve does, and also backs them up with unmatched customer support and endless, massive free content updates, you are allowed to be fat. IMHO.

@JohnnyMaverik Thank you! I completely agree. IMO Xbox Live is a scam, both for the developers and the end users. This coming from a dedicated PC gamer of course, but I've used Live as well. @presc1ence Microsoft certainly hasn't stopped anyone from sending out buggy games, methinks. It most certainly is better customer service being able to patch them however. There's always going to be bugs, I'd like them to be fixed quickly when they come to light, thank you very much.
  • presc1ence - September 9, 2010 4:34 p.m.

so he's complaining that microsoft dont want him to send out buggy games? That some how it being easier to patch games is better customer service?
  • JD_Method - September 9, 2010 4:18 p.m.

@Redeater & TENAXIS Well done with the fat jokes. Now Gabe has pushed back Episode 3 another 20 years in revenge.
  • JohnnyMaverik - September 9, 2010 3:54 p.m.

@ Ironarm Have you played TF2 on 360? It's a joke compared to the pc and mac version, the real version. Do you realise you'd have got all the L4D DLC for free? But Microsoft don't like free stuff because it costs them money. Why? Because the whole thing has been set up so that not only do that have complete control, and everything has to be green lighten by them, which is fair enough I guess, everything has to go through them and costs them money. From a gamers perspective, if you're used to live, and it's your only experience of online infrastructure for games, which if you're a console only gamer it probably is, I imagine it looks fine, it isn't. From a developers perspective, everything costs, where as on PS3 and PC, not everything does.

    so there's duke lombardi
  • Ironarm - September 9, 2010 3:47 p.m.

So now that Sony is giving Valve more money than M$ it means that he has to trash talk Xbox Live. I'm pretty sure Live is no "train wreck" and the only reason he says that is to try and cover up for Valve's own mistakes.
  • Redeater - September 9, 2010 3:47 p.m.

@Parsley Hey what can I say? I want episode 3. Though to be honest I couldn't tell it was him at first. My screen only supports 1280X1024 and I could only see his glasses.
  • JohnnyMaverik - September 9, 2010 3:46 p.m.

@ gmcb007 He used to complain about the PS3 hardware not their services, they have now employed a whole team that specialise in PS3 development and will do ports in-house. I'm sure they'd rather have never had to do that, but with XBOX live, they can't do anything about it, and it basically stops developers being nice to their customers to any level Microsoft decide they don't approve of, there are just too many rules and barriers on both sides, costs to Microsoft and developers, it's successful but it's a mess. Can't wait to get my hands on that copy of PCG.
  • TENAXIS - September 9, 2010 3:42 p.m.

no offense, i love valve, i love tf2, play it all the time but why is he soo fat?? i dont get it, saw his youth picture on "all your history belong to us" and he looked pretty fit.
  • Tronto13 - September 9, 2010 3:37 p.m.

tbh, they are only finding it easier on PS3 because they built the online service its going on.... if they hadnt made the steam deal with Sony they would be having an even more difficult job than they are apparently having with the 360~!
  • gmcb007 - September 9, 2010 3:30 p.m.

Hmmm funny how before he partnered up with Sony all he did was complain about their that the tables are turned hes trash talking microsoft even though he used to praise them..... the backstabbing fat did he forget how his L4D Crash course DLC was a disaster with the bugs that contained?
  • Parsley - September 9, 2010 3:25 p.m.

    @Redeater yeah...real mature
  • Redeater - September 9, 2010 3:22 p.m.

Seriously though.....shouldn't he have princess Lea chained beside him?
