The neverending debate over which console makes prettier pictures continues with Bethesda’s epic Fallout 3. We’ve played a bit of each, scrutinized the footage, and now present you with our findings. For everyone who loves a good fanboy flame war, we’re sorry to say that neither console looks consistently better than the other. It truly comes down to which particular rock or building you happen to be looking at when you make your decision. Some textures look better on PS3, while others look broken. Some colors look more vibrant on 360, but some look more washed out. Draw-in occurs on both platforms, in similar places. We noticed a bit more texture pop in the PS3, but structures seemed to fade in a bit smoother. Let us close by saying how impressive it is that Bethesda was able to put out a game of this scope on PC, 360 and PS3 as a simultaneous release. Both consoles deliver a top-notch gaming experience for RPG players of all affiliations.
