Douglas Adams Doctor Who Story Finally Gets Novelised

After 32 years, the infamous “unfinished” Doctor Who story “Shada” will finally be released as a novel…

The six-part story, which was scheduled to close the 1979-80 series of Doctor Who (when Tom Baker was the reigning Doctor) will be novelised by Gareth Roberts (who wrote “The Shakespeare Code”, “The Unicorn And The Wasp” and “The Lodger” for the new series, and various episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures ). It is due to be released in hardback in March 2012, priced £16.99.

Douglas Adams wrote the story when he script editor on the show, and many elements from it later found their way into his novel Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency . This will be the first time anyone other than Adams has novelised an Adams script.
