So this article praises everything in DMC that the original Devil May Cry is not? The writer thinks the "They Live" story, overbearing (obnoxious) Donte, and combichrist type music in a game is original? It's been done before. There's nothing "original" or innovative about that. Did the author even play the original Devil May Cry games? Does he realize that there's been four installments, special editions and HD collections, yet it's supposedly inferior to this new DMC, a game that hasn't even come out yet? You take a crap on everything that made Devil My Cry great (style, charm, fun, cheesiness) and expect people to just be pleased with something completely different, something that does not make Devil May Cry what it's suppose to be. There's something very fishy about this article.

"His past is properly fleshed out, as is his development into his future self" ... Wait, what? I wish ninja Theory would hurry up and explain this. IS this a prequel, showing Dante's youth and how he becomes OUR Dante, or IS this a completely separate universe, with a different Dante and Vergil who AREn"t related to the others at all? Anyway, the tutorial sections sounds absolutely brilliant. Far better than the usual crap you get in tutorials, where trained professionals are walked through the most basic actions for no readily apparent reason. So that's one thing I'm thanking Ninja Theory for. One thing I'm NOT thanking them for is the soundtrack. I happen to LIKE Cheesy looped Industrial Metal.
