With the $20 million-budgeted thriller Disturbia making a healthy $79 million at the US box office to date, it was only natural that DreamWorks would want star Shia LaBeouf and director DJ Caruso to team back up.
And it looks like the pair are happy to work together again as they’ve just signed up to make Eagle Eye. Hillary Seitz’ script finds a young bloke and single mother framed as terrorists and shanghaied into becoming part of a cell plotting a political assassination.
Given that LaBeouf is about to explode even further with Transformers, it’s no surprise that the studio is trying to keep him in the fold. And it won’t shock anyone to learn that Transformers writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing the new thriller – can anyone say free re-writes?
