This guy has no clue what he's talking about. Are you really comparing the 3DS to the iphone? Are there good games on the iphone/pad? Yeah, but it's not made to be a gaming device. If you compare to any thing compare to the PSP. And was he even aware that the DS existed before this? C'mon if CNN has a living Adonis like Anderson Cooper the why can they get someone competent enough to review a hand-held system.

  • goldengunguy - March 25, 2011 8:59 p.m.

if he grew up on halo his parents must have been 10 feet tall for him to be that tall at 9. first a touch screen wasnt even THOUGHT of in ths 90s. second a ps3 is a HOME CONSOLE, 3ds, a HANDHELD. and doesnt he know iphone/touch/pad games are cheap games with prices at most $15. ps: the 3d isnt on/off like he thought it was thats what the sliders for moron. hes a hardcore gamer for sure.

retro look from 1999? What was that shiny, glassy and smooth in 1999?
  • Larinah - March 25, 2011 8:50 p.m.

Halo was released in 2001 first, and he's saying he was raised on halo. How old is this kid anyway? Also (off-topic), lol@CNN failing too.

Is that his official picture? It looks hilarious.

This is even sadder when you realize the Nintendo DS is the second Highest selling console of all time right behind the PS2. It's even more relevant when you realize Nintendo has made more money from the DS than the Wii.

I hate when people insist on comparing smartphones to game devices. It doesn't matter if the game is cheaper, there are no buttons, there are few experienced and highly-talented makers of original games, absolutely none of the games on the app store could possibly sell for more than $15. I have an Apple device, and the only thing that's come even close to the playtime of any of my DS or GBA games is Peggle, which started on PC. The stylus was necessary for many games on DS, and will continue to be so. Have fun playing Meteos with your big meaty fingers and having to wipe fingerprints off the screen every time you play. I'm so sick of people comparing portable gaming to smartphones. They will NEVER have the same selection of RPG's, platformers, and sidescrolling action games as even the Game Boy Advance did. It's so damn stupid. -200 nalayear Captcha's insight strikes again.

    @PlanetOfTehRApes I'm 14 and I grew up on Mario 64!
  • ricochetguro - March 25, 2011 8:40 p.m.

Who cares? If you go to cnn for gaming news/reviews then theres something wrong with you.
  • NappyAfro - March 25, 2011 8:39 p.m.

That is so hilarious. Priceless. People who know nothing about the gaming industry or gaming in general should not be reviewing something they have no ideal about. iPad/iPhone/iPod touches aren't even gaming platforms. Gaming was just on the apple products that seem like a good ideal as an afterthought.

wow, what a "hardcore gamer". this guy is a fucking herb, i hope he hears about this article and looks it up, and sees how much of a major tool bitch he is, and that other people already know this. this has nothing to do with nintendo, or video games.. he's just bad at his job.
  • PlanetOfTehRApes - March 25, 2011 8:28 p.m.

jesus, this guy is such an idiot. This is way worse then the whole ME2 fox news phenomenon. so first off if he "grew up" on halo then he should be around 13-14, because if you have "grown up" on something it means you have played it since you were YOUNG! like 4-5 years old young. second off how much of an hole do you need to be in to have never seen a DS and think that it looks like it should be from the 1990's. Ugh such rage when watching this, they should honestly just hire games journalists to talk about games and not rich, stupid teens
  • brentsonier - March 25, 2011 8:27 p.m.

Please God...tell me he didn't just refer to himself as a "hardcore" gamer. i don't know whether to laugh or find this douchebag and slap him.
  • HoudiniWaltz - March 25, 2011 8:25 p.m.

  • GhostbustTyler - March 25, 2011 8:22 p.m.

Grew up on Halo? What is he, 8? Hell I'm still in High school and I grew up playing Goldeneye. What a maroon.
  • Fatbot - March 25, 2011 8:19 p.m.

CNN's been a joke in all their news for years, so this doesn't surprise me a bit.
  • Woodrow83 - March 25, 2011 8:12 p.m.
