City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios is being linked with Star Trek Online following reports that Perpetual Entertainment is no longer working on the MMO.
In November last year it was speculated that a new mystery company at the STO helm may be re-targeting the game at a casual audience.
Now TrekMovie.com reports via a "source" the negotiations are currently underway to get Star Trek Online assets and license into the hands of a new developer.
Crytpic Studios, currently working on Marvel Universe Online for Microsoft, is being linked with the MMO because it's apparently interviewing members of the Perpetual team. But the developer isn't confirming whether it's at the negotiation table.
At least the game isn't lost in space. Yet.
