Box pops

Author Joe Hill is following his dad Stephen King into Hollywood, now that Heart-Shaped Box is being adapted into a movie. According to Variety
, The Crying Game and Interview with the Vampire director Neil Jordan will “adapt and direct” Hill’s supernatural tale, with Akiva Goldsman (the Oscar-winning writer of A Beautiful Mind and, er, Batman and Robin ) producing.

Not a bad result for Hill’s first novel -Warner Brothers executives were sufficiently impressed with an early peek at Hill’s text to scoop up the rights a year ago. To us it seems like a bona fide case of like father, like son, though Hill will have to go some to catch up with his father’s prolific movie output.
