Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 trailer teases big bosses, awesome music

Even though the taint of the Wife Arm lingers to this day, our interest in Bionic Commando as a franchise has not diminished in the least. This latest trailer for Rearmed 2 (sequel to 2008's supremely awesome Bionic Commando Rearmed) shows Nathan "Rad" Spencer fighting off a massive helicopter boss using little more than his grapple arm and a tiny gun. This setup embodies precisely what we all love about classic 2D games - a pattern-based boss that requires excellent timing and genuine platforming skill to take down. Plus the music is fuggin amazing.

It's still set for a Q1 2011 release, which is fine by us, as the deluge of fall/holiday games is making both our professional and personal lives excessively packed. Until the next trailer comes around (and there will be more), here's the screens Capcom sent along with the vid:

You know, I bought the OST of the first game. I have never owned a 360 or a PS3 and have never played the game. That is how awesome this music is.

Looks fun. Too bad the 3D Bionic Commando got such a bad rap. It was a good game with some great mechanics to it.

I occasionally completely forget this exists until you bring it up again. And then I freak out with joy again, every time. Can't wait for next year. And yes, I want the music so bad.

This reminds me, I never got around to killing Hitler in Rearmed. Music is good.

Great music! I'll definitely be playing this when its released! Awesome news feature Brett : D You guys should do a feature on that missile/jet that was seen launched a few days ago near Los Angeles. And you could list what evil game character may have launched it : ) Maybe it was the Covenant, Crash Man, Cloud Man, or Makarov! This probably sounds dumb though! Maybe it should go in the forums!
