Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters

Publisher: SCEA
Developer: High Impact
Release Date: Spring 2007

Take the award-winning gameplay of Ratchet & Clank, shrink it down onto the PSP with almost zero change and what do you get? A whole lot of handheld awesome. A return to the lighter tone and more gleeful gameplay of the earlier Ratchet games (as opposed to Ratchet: Deadlocked, which was a little grim), this portable spinoff let us hop around, bash robots with a wrench and shoot stuff, all with the beautiful animation and crisp detail that the series is known for. That makes it one of the best things the PSP had going at E3, period. After graduating from college in 2000 with a BA in journalism, I worked for five years as a copy editor, page designer and videogame-review columnist at a couple of mid-sized newspapers you've never heard of. My column eventually got me a freelancing gig with GMR magazine, which folded a few months later. I was hired on full-time by GamesRadar in late 2005, and have since been paid actual money to write silly articles about lovable blobs.
