Some very interesting ideas, but I doubt we'll see AC venture too heavily into any of these areas. We just haven't seen the series change enough over its first three iterations to really expect anything ground-changing to be coming. Unfortunately, AC has seemed to always have been a series where Nintendo just doesn't really listen to the fans requests, and instead just ports the same game over and over again so that there's a "new" AC on the newest system. But I love the ideas of the mayor position having a huge effect on the town, as well as the notion that the series needs to "grow up" with its audience.

Never tried the series before, but with all the acclaim it's getting I will for sure with this one.

Did they release a new trailer or something? Some of these images and info are new to me. For the article, these are some really good ideas. Well done!

Great idea's Matt, some are pushing it but otherwise its a great list. Being Mayor will most likely give us much newer and hopefully overral better gameplay, especially since the Town is MUCH bigger, it leaves for more concepts. As for "Growing Up", i can attest to that on a certain point that there can be more arguments and overral more Anger and love as you explained. Tom Nook and that Fox guy should have a big rivalry as shop owners, and have some animals, hate you for hanging with certain others. Think about this, everyone except you is an animal, yet you all fish, now if they added a fish character, they can have crazy idea's over how they would react. Considering your gonna be the Mayor, it will fit perfectly. This picture sets a good example of the chaos they can expand on: Speaking of Tom Nook, im more than %100 sure he'll still find a way to screw you over even if your Mayor. That guys a DEVIL tell you!

I would like to see a simple house building interface in this new game. Since you are the mayor of the town, it would only be natural to direct what kinds of houses to build in town. Something like that would be cool.

I think it'd be neat to be able to invite certain characters to move into your town. I remember Ellie being my favorite neighbor on GameCube, then she moved away. I want Ellie back!!! I want to snorkel/SCUBA in the water: find buried treasure, check out more fish, etc. I want to be able to climb around things like trees and roofs. Maybe there are specific characters you'll find and talk to that are up on high. How about some more Metroidvania stuff? Areas you can only access once you buy/find certain equipment? That seems a natural fit.

These are all good ideas, but not any I expect to see. I sunk countless hours into the first Animal Crossing, so I was immensely disappointed to get a copy of Wild World and find out it was essentially the exact same game I'd already played to death. City Fold was no different...all I really want from the series is a little change. It doesn't have to be revolutionary...just different.

This game will definitly deliver on that, a much bigger city and being the mayor not only brings a unique concept, but different opportunities on game mechanice whatever they may be.

NO E-shop integration unless it is done right! I really don't want to see some rare sofa for 500 Nintendo points...

Animal Crossing could be one of those titles that works really well as a fully downloadable retail game. Having it permanently accessable on the system would ensure more visits to the town even years down the line. And who gets rid of Animal Crossing games anyway? You hardly ever see pre-owned versions until the next one comes out.

I am a die hard Animal Crossing fan and would hate this game if these huge changes were made. I'm expecting more of the same, just bigger, with 3D and more things to do. There shouldn't be any kind of fighting in Animal Crossing! That's not what the game is about. I don't like that making families idea either...I realllly hope they stay true to the game and don't make any huge changes.

Oh, come on. It would be fun to see how the towns folk would react to a random tornado or meteor storm appearing out of thin air.

The one thing that this game absolutely needs is voice chat when visiting a town similar to the Wii version! I wish that more online games for the 3DS used this feature and it's one of the reasons that I'm so excited for Heroes of Ruin.
