Great article, GR! Ok, so here's what I think. You were spot-on with The Lord of the Rings, The Matrix, and Terminator. Notice that those all have several things in common: 1. They're all movies. 2. They're all trilogies. 3. They're all blockbusters. Now, what do those three things have in common with LEGO Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones? They are all movies. They are all (not counting Batman, unless you count the numerous pointless sequels and spin-offs) trilogies. They are all blockbusters. They are the most likely to be made. You are dead-on about us needing a quality LEGO Matrix or Lord of the Rings. Terminator is something I would not have thought of, but more power to you. That's an excellent idea. Lord of the Rings could be a huge, epic story with like 30 playable characters, including Elrond, Gollum, Saruman, Arwen, Galadriel, Eomer, Eowyn, even a freaking Balrog! I mean, how cool would THAT be? I'd preorder it the moment it'd be announced. The Matrix is also an epic trilogy. I'm curious as to what Morpheus's Lego minifig would look like, *snicker snicker*. But seriously, Minifigs in trench coats with double machine guns, John-Woo style? Seriously, get real. NOT! That's exactly what Lego is about! Lego is about the ridiculous things that nobody thinks will work. The whole epic scope of all three movies, combined like LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Trilogy, would. be. AMAZING!!! Terminator... THAT would be cool. I can just see Kyle and Sarah minifigs running down dark, barely-lit alleys, chased by a twice-as-big-as-normal Arnold Schwartzenegger minifig. LMAO. But cool, seriously. Also, the idea of Cameron as an unlockable character was great. I loved the TV show. Again, it should be bundled as one big game, not three different movies. Run it like this: Terminator-Terminator 2: Judgement Day-then from there, move on to two alternate endings. If you have, say, all secrets thus far, you move on to the good ending, the one that moves you on to T3, and eventually The Sarah Connor Chronicles. If you get like 50% or less in terms of secrets, you get the bad ending, in which you move on directly to T4: Salvation. Finally, the Seventh Seal is VERY interesting sounding, but first I've never seen the movie and second, a LEGO chess game doesn't sound too good, to be honest. What WOULD be good is LEGO Monty Python and the Holy Grail, or LEGO Spider-Man or LEGO Dracula. Besides that, keep dreaming!

I was going to leave a comment, but seeing as how I'm neither first nor second, I must be a total loser and unworthy of giving a comment. Unlike those winners at the top who must sit on the website and update every few seconds until a new article is posted so that they may jump at the chance to be first and declare it to the world. I thought this article was a little cool, but some of the ideas were not that exciting to me. One of the licenses I always thought that would make a fun LEGO game would be Harry Potter. There are plenty of character in it for one, plus strengths and weaknesses for each. Harry could be good at flying the broomstick. Hermione could be the spell caster. I guess Ron could be the game expert? Maybe just good for all around combat or melee fighting. Then as you play the movies and unlock more characters, you can go back and utilize them. Hagrid for bulldozing through things. Dumbledore for grand spell casting. Snape for potions. Etc. Nah, I haven't put much that into this, have I?

Isn't this just the combining of two franchises, maybe some that aren't adapted to being kid-friendly (lego hookers in GTA IV anyone? Some block on block action there...)? It seems like it should stay where it has succeeded: in the bright and colorful world that is Lego Starwars.

  • 1up-shroom - September 4, 2008 1:02 a.m.

i think that lego lord of the rings would be the most probable, but im guessing their probably gonna make a lego harry potter although i dont think that would sell much.

  • flare149 - September 3, 2008 11:48 p.m.

One thing I love about GamesRadar is how dedicated and thorough they are. It was awesome hoe they made the hand from the drop grenade image in the GTA IV pic into a Lego hand
