As the game is still in its relative infancy, there are some flaws and missing features. For instance, you can't dive or jump for balls on defense, and the pace of the actual on-field action is very slow (though perhaps that's because we're not major leaguers with cat-like reflexes). Furthermore, the graphics won't wow anyone who's played a PC or console game in the last four years.
Nevertheless, it's impossible not to dream about how much fun a fully realized UBO could be for die-hard baseball fans - and the upcoming tournaments (with real cash prizes) should further entice the hardcore crowd. The fact that the game is currently free doesn't hurt either - the creators are hoping that will help get you hooked. Ultimate Baseball Online's initial steps give hope that every fan's dream could become reality.
