With the summer now drawing to a close, you might be thinking about heading to the gym to help build up some healthy new habits. But instead of forking out for a costly gym membership, have you thought about trying Ring Fit Adventure?

The exercise game from Nintendo offers plenty of the same benefits as heading to a gym, but without the pressure that sometimes comes from having to step into one. For starters, the game’s Adventure mode gives you a guided workout each day, letting you take on as many challenges as you feel comfortable with and giving you examples of how to perform each muscle stretch with the game’s Ring-Con controller.

On top of that, the game prioritizes making sure you feel comfortable, allowing you to set the difficulty of your workouts and customize your own playlists so you’re doing the exercises you want, the way you want. And, if you’re in the mood for some light exercise while watching Bake Off, you can turn on Multitask Mode, which tracks how many times you squeeze the Ring-Con without you having to get set up for a proper session.

Ring Fit also encourages you by showing you all the progress you’ve made, tracking how much time you’ve spent exercising and which activities you’re excelling at. Plus, if you fancy a little friendly competition, the game also has leaderboards that allow you to compare your activities with friends, so you’ll be able to find which exercises you’re top of the class for. Just remember that, as a proper workout, you’ll want to take advantage of Ring Fit’s warmup and cooldown videos, which help to keep your muscles healthy and moving.

With a one-off cost of £69.99, there’s also none of the commitment of contracts or convoluted memberships to worry about. So why not try Ring Fit and see if it can give you the boost you’ve been looking for.
