Altaroth

Type: Neopteron
Threat: 1
Weak Point: Head
Elemental Weakness: None Discernible

Item Drop
From Body: Monster Fluid, Altaroth Stomach, Altaroth Jaw, Monster Fluid,Ripened Mushroom (Blue Abdomen Only), Honey (Yellow Abdomen Only),Waterblock Seed (Green Abdomen Only), Might Seed, Insect Husk (White Abdomen Only),Monster Broth (High Rank Only), Altaroth Stomach+

Altaroth are basically giant ants. They travel slowly, in small groups and will fight back as a swarm if provoked to violence. Their capacity for violence however is a bit limited. Generally, they will come at you with their teeth. This attack is easily avoided however and causes little damage even if it connects. That said, it can also shoot an acidic goo from its abdomen that will eat up a sizable chunk of your health if it connects. Attacking from the rear generally renders this attack useless.

Fish

Type: Fish

Fish vary in type. Some are carnivorous, some migratory and some natatorial. The carnivorous ones (Shaq, Catfish) are the ones to worry about while the others will generally choose flight over fight. While more standard weapons can be used against them, you're generally better off using a harpoon to hunt them.

Ludroth

Type: Leviathan
Threat: 2
Weak Point: None Discernible
Elemental Weakness: Fire

Item Drop
From Body: Immature Sponge, Hydro Hide, Monster Bone S

The Ludroth is a vicious monster that will become hostile toward you as soon as you come into sight. It can take moderate damage and unlike many of the foes you've encountered before, its attacks will take a chunk out of your health. That said, it follows a pretty basic attack pattern that is easy to learn and work around. It will generally just lunge at you and try to bite you. Roll out of the way and hammer it with attacks until it prepares to do so again. The Ludroth is an aquatic animal by nature and follows basically the same pattern underwater. The only difference is that it's a much better swimmer than you are, so you'll have to take your decreased maneuverability into account.

Royal Ludroth

Type: Wyvern
Threat: Three
Weak Point: Tail, Mane
Elemental Weakness: Water

Item Drop
From Body: R. Ludroth Scale, Spongy Hide, R. Ludroth Claw, Dash Extract, Quality Sponge (High Rank Only) Spongy Hide+, R. Ludroth Claw+, R. Ludroth Scale+
From Tail: R. Ludroth Tail, R. Ludroth Scale, (High Rank Only) R. Ludroth Scale+, Wyvern Stone
Quest Reward: Dash Extract, Spongy Hide, Quality Sponge, R. Ludroth Scale (High Rank Only) Spongy Hide+, R. Ludroth Crest+, Wyvern Stone
Special Reward: (Destroy Crest) R. Ludroth Crest, R. Ludroth Scale, (High Rank Only) R. Ludroth Crest+, R. Ludroth Scale+ (Destroy Mane) Spongy Hide, Quality Sponge, Dash Extract, (High Rank Only) Spongy Hide+
Glitter Drops: Wyvern Tear, Dash Extract, R. Ludroth Scale

This guy is a doozy if you don't come prepared. If you haven't upgraded your weapons in awhile, do so before taking on the Royal Ludruth. Fighting the Royal Ludruth can be broken down into two parts: on land and in the water. He's equally nasty in both, just in different ways. On land he is fast, but you are generally fast enough to put distance in between the two of you, making a hit and run strategy viable. Nonetheless, he has some attacks you need to watch for. Oddly enough his main attacks are the easiest to avoid. His lunges, bites and charges all generally come with some warning sign that will give you time to react. Nonetheless, his speed can make them hard to avoid.

The most annoying thing he can do on land is his roll attack. If you try to hit him from the sides he roll over and flatten you. It's almost unavoidable and all but forces you to hit him from the front and rear, exposing yourself to his mouth and tail. In the water, you don't have to deal with the roll attack, but his speed is almost greater than on land and you are clumsier, making his attacks more difficult to dodge. Just attack him as the opportunity allows and avoid his attacks the best you can. Aim for his tail as you can cut it off, lessening his size and attack range.

Delex

Type: Piscine Wyvern
Threat: 2
Weak Point: Head
Elemental Weakness: None Discernible

Item Drop
From Body: Pointed Fang, Big Fin, Monster Guts, (High Rank Only) Quality Fin

The Delex is a pain for two reasons: it is hard to hit and it travels in large groups. The Delex jumps in and out of the sand/snow like a flying fish, stopping only to attack and then going back on the move when you fight back. It's evasive movements, coupled with the fact that all the Delex look identical make it really hard to pin down just one of them, which makes it hard to whittle their numbers down. Their attacks are nothing too special on their own, but they use their numbers to their advantage and will attack you as a group, chipping away at your health.
