Mobile games can come in all shapes and sizes. Some can be great casual experiences that can be played just about anywhere, while others bring some of what youre used to seeing on consoles to the palm of your hand. This weeks batch of games includes a mix of both worlds and proves that theres always something fun out there worth downloading.

So grab your phone, tablet, or trusty thingamabob and start heading to the App Store or Google Play. Will you confirm purchase? We think you should.

Perfect for anyone waiting to play the next game in the series, Heroes of Dragon of Age lets you create a team of veteran warriors like Morrigan and Alistair and complete quests and battles collecting even more characters to add to your squad. Things get more difficult as you progress through the games missions, so you need to keep your team in check to ensure you win against the AI or your friends. You can, of course, spend some real money to purchase elite warriors or just enjoy this free Dragon Age slice until Inquisition comes out.

Teaching someone about the possible dangers of mosquito bites doesnt have to be dry and boring. Nightmare: Malaria proves you can actually turn it into a fun game. This atmospheric platformer takes place within the dreams of a child and requires you to navigate blood vessels in search of teddy bears to get back to reality. Giant mosquitoes can sting you at any moment and quickly kill you so you need to use protective tents to avoid their deadly disease. Its chilling soundtrack even serves as a reminder of how serious malaria actually is.

Lawless is an arcade shooter that has you training a group of criminals and taking on robberies and shoot-out throughout Los Angeles in the 1990s. Not only are you aiming to score high during each action-packed heist, but your gang of vigilantes also levels up and gets stronger the more you play. Despite being an on-rails shooter, the game gives you plenty of freedom to be the best crime lord the city has ever seenthat is, if you dont consider Al Pacinos triumphs in Heist.

If youre tired of slicing fruit for no reason at all other than to enter a Zen state of mind, why not try slicing demons instead? A baker-turned-villain has brought his army of evil baked goods into your kingdom and its your job of stopping him for good. KingHunt features a number of enemies throughout its 12 worlds for you to cut down to size. Youll need to avoid the bombs they throw your way, but power-ups and lots of collectibles will keep you coming back for more.

As its name alludes to, Warlords is a real-time-strategy game that lets you lead an army of warriors against enemy units and camps. Your super-powered warlords get experience and learn some useful abilities as you use them in battle, and you can always equip them with weapons and deadly spells. There are plenty of ways to customize your armies too, and you can purchase more troops to use as fodder during the tough fights. With bosses and evil orcs waiting to tear them apart, you better use your experience points and gold wisely.

Taking place in the beautiful yet treacherous seas of the Caribbean, Pirates features the same charm from Assassins Creed IV but presents you with an enjoyable standalone adventure. The game includes plenty of missions that grant you with resources to expand your ship, its crew, and your weapons so your role as a captain leaves you with plenty to do. Of course, all that treasure also means that you will engage in plenty of awesome naval battles that are just as exhilarating as those in AC IV.

RoboMouse is a fast-paced tower defense game that takes place during an all-out war between robotic mice and robotic rabbits. You need to set up towers along different paths to stop your foes from getting close to your base. Each stage presents you with a new map and even more waves of enemies, so you need to constantly build different specialized towers or upgrade them to ensure you win. With lots of levels and an array of power-ups and weapons to use, RoboMouse is one strategy game that will definitely keep you on your toes.

Band Stars lets you form your own rock band and live the life of a star--if you make the right choices, that is. Similar to management sims like Game Dev Story, this game requires you to make careful choices in your bands career such as what songs to perform, who to hire, and what types of gigs to take. Acting as the bands manager, you also need to ensure your team stays in tip-top shape and encourage them to practice their skills or pick up another instrument. Its a tough career, but it can definitely bring in the dough.
