Jeff Goldblum's answer to appearing in Jurassic World 2 is peak 'blum: "I'm an open-faced sandwich"

Jurassic World and Independence Day: Resurgence are both nostalgia-fuelled blockbuster sequels that have dragged dormant franchises back into the limelight. Jeff Goldblum had promient roles in those earlier films, and while he will be back as David Levinson for the Independence Day sequel this summer he did not return as Dr. Ian Malcolm in Jurassic World.

When asked by Fandango if he would be open to reprising his popular role in Jurassic World 2, Goldblum gave this epic response; "I’m nothing if not open. I’m like an open-faced sandwich. My door is not always open — I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I’m too open. I’m like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I’d certainly be well satisfied." That is peak Goldblum...

There's no denying that an appearance from Dr Malcolm would go over well with fans, and Goldblum is clearly game to return; "What movie doesn't need a little seasoning of Goldblum? So few."

Universal - make this happen.

Starring Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, Jurassic World 2 is currently scheduled for a June 22, 2018 release.
