Hugh Jackman is set to dust off his claws for both The Wolverine and X-Men: Days Of Future Past in the next 18 months, and according to the star, he won’t be the only old X-Man to be appearing in the former…
Jackman has been talking about the James Mangold-directed spin-off and has reiterated that his will not be the only familiar face from the existing X-Men movies.
“The movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand ,” says Jackman. “My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.”
It was rumoured earlier this year that Jean Grey might be the character in question, with actress Famke Janssen doing little to quash said reports. “Jean Grey, the Phoenix,” she teased, “she finds a way to reincarnate herself constantly...”
Directed by Mangold and co-starring Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tao Okamoto, The Wolverine will open in the UK on 26 July 2013.
