Here are the Golden Globes winners 2017 and it's disappointment for Game of Thrones, Westworld, and Stranger Things

The Golden Globes kicked off awards season last night and it was filled with shocks, surprises and sassy speeches. But enough about that: you want to know if Stranger Things swept the board, whether Westworld picked up a (well-deserved) award, or if Game of Thrones added to its many, many gongs.

The big news (apart from the Stranger Things rap, obvs) was that Westworld didn’t get a *single* award. Sad times. 

Fans of Deadpool will also be feeling glum this morning as La La Land beat it to Best Motion Picture for a Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Musical Comedy. Maybe the Oscars will see the Merc with a Mouth duly rewarded?

Netflix’s The Crowd also reigned supreme by winning Best Television Show – Drama ahead of Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, This Is Us, and Westworld. And there was no chance for Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood to meet the hosts (sorry) as she didn’t win Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama having been toppled by The Crown’s Claire Foy.
