If you love the look of Lego Minas Tirith but can't justify the cost, this amazing but cheap Lord of the Rings set just went on offer
The Sauron's Helmet model is sitting on a record low price
Listen, I appreciate that Lego Minas Tirith, Rivendell, and the rest are incredible. But for so many of us, they're priced way outside of our budget. That's why this offer on a smaller, but no less cool, Lord of the Rings Lego set caught my eye.
I've been keeping a close eye on discounts in the run-up to this month's Prime Day Lego deals, and this price cut on Lego Sauron's Helmet stands out from the crowd. Thanks to a £15 saving at Amazon, it's now down to a record low price - and I doubt we'll see a better bargain for the Lego Lord of the Rings set during the sale, either.
Seeing as this kit has mostly stuck to RRP since it surprised us with a reveal earlier in the year, that sudden 23% drop brings it crashing down to its lowest ever price. There's a possibility it drops further for Prime Day in a couple of weeks, but in my experience, we rarely see better offers on models in this price bracket.
While it's not as jaw-dropping as Lego Rivendell or the impressive Lego Minas Tirith, this is still a downright iconic kit for fans. Sauron's design was more than memorable when it first showed up in Fellowship of the Ring thanks to that otherwordly, alien feel, so makes for a cool piece of memorabilia to go on your living room shelf. It also provides a little minifigure for the Lord of the Rings himself, which is a bonus.
Crucially, it's not gonna take you a week to build. I've been lucky enough to construct some of the best Lego sets for review, but it's quite a time commitment that can test your patience. By contrast, this 538-piece model shouldn't take much more than an evening to make and isn't nearly so complex. That makes it a satisfying experience no matter how many Lego kits you've put together, if any. It won't take up loads of room on display either, so you don't feel like it's dominating the space it's in.
Of course, that's just the start of the reductions this month. Even though Prime Day is still a few weeks away (it officially starts on June 23), more than a few discounts are starting to fly now. Considering how Father's Day is coming up, that may just come in handy...

I've been writing about games in one form or another since 2012, but these days you'll find me managing GamesRadar+'s tabletop gaming and toy coverage (I spend my time here handling everything from board game reviews to the latest Lego news). I've also been obsessed with Warhammer since the 1990s, and love nothing more than running tabletop RPGs like D&D as a Dungeon Master.
