Electronic Arts has officially announced that the much-rumoured Sims 2 expansion The Sims 2 Nightlife is currently in development, and is due for release in the autumn.
With The Sims 2 currently being a very much in-the-home event, Nightlife plans to allow your little characters to mimic the Friday and Saturday-nightly habits of real-life humans.
Your Sims will get to party hard, dance furiously, drink heartily and try miserably to stand out from the rest of equally shy no-hopers in order to woo a member of the opposite sex into its house for some coffee.
In addition to the entirely new life motivations added by the ability to go out, get sloshed and throw kebabs at bus drivers, Nightlife places 125 new objects into the game, which also makes strong suggestions regarding the intended route of the game.
As well as a DJ booth (obviously) and other nightclub trimmings, there is a poker table... We wonder if the expansion pack will also include a place-your-keys-on-the-table thought bubble option to accompany this potentially crippling addition?
