This week's OXM Podcast marks the magazine's 50th foray into fake radio shows, so it's appropriate that it brings with it a fake awards ceremony, too. The editors have reworked the Official Xbox Magazine February 2007 issue's Game of the Year awards into the "KOXMmies," complete with celebrity interviews on the red carpet, intentionally bad teleprompter readings, and guest presenters for the awards. There's even original music from composer Jeremy Soule, who created the soundtracks for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Prey, Dungeon Siege, and just about every Harry Potter game EA's done to date.
It's "theater of the mind," podcast-style. Turns out it's also part one of two; like the Oscars, the awards show runs long. Our friends across the hall promise that there are more surprises in store next week. The show is downloadable today from www.oxmpodcast.com.
