Walt Disney Animation Studios have released a short two-minute video to celebrate the imminent release of their latest film, Tangled by counting down the 49 animated features produced over the past seven decades.
The video ends with a look a Tangled - the 50th Disney animated feature - a new twist on the story of Rapunzel, the girl who let down her hair.
In Tangled , Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) is kidnapped as a baby by Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy) and locked in the infamous tower.
To celebrate Disney's landmark achievement, there will be celebrations next year including screenings of all 50 films at the BFI on London’s Southbank.
They'll also screen Tangled on the day of the premiere, followed by a Q&A with the directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard.
The BFI will then show a different animated Disney film every weekend for the rest of 2011, starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs ( 1937 ), which was the first full colour animated film, and ending with The Princess and the Frog (2009).
Check out the video below;
Tangled will be in UK cinemas on the 28th January 2011.
