A crow and a cabybara team up in this amazing adventure game, and to be honest I'm already sold
You gotta see the hat stacking
If there was a prize for the cutest Future Games Show title, it might have to go to Capy Castaway.
This upcoming cozy adventure game sees you play as a little capybara pup who's made an unlikely friend in a sassy crow.
The pair are just trying to get home, but by combining their unique skills and abilities, they have a better chance of getting off this island and solving some puzzles along the way.
"Everything in Capy Castaway is informed by play," explains Saffron Aurora, CEO and creative director at Kitten Cup Studio, during the FGS Live from Gamescom broadcast. "We also encourage players to be curious to see how the game reacts, because your actions can sometimes have meaningful consequences."
And that's not just related to hats, but hats are a big part of what make this game sound awesome. You can kit out your capy with basically anything as a hat, but also stack multiple items on your head like some kind of multi-hat-stack Jamiroquai abomination (but make it cute).
"I think if you like a Short Hike and Untitled Goose Game you'll really love Capy Castaway," adds Aurora.
Plus, the team are currently working on co-op support so one person can control the capybara and the other takes on the crow.
Capy Castaway is due to launch on PC in 2026, but there's a demo you can play on Steam right now.
